New Lives Portrait Exhibition
The opening took place on October 4th with many of the portrait-sitters in attendance. Hungarian-Canadian pianist Mary Kenedi performed at the event.
Opening of the New Lives Exhibit at the National Arts Centre October 4th 2006
The exhibition was then on display at the Munk Centre from October 26-28, BCE Place in November and Pier 21 in Halifax in November-December.
Following the Canadian tour, the exhibit travelled to Budapest and opened on Feb 20th until March 4th 2007 at the Magyar Kultura Alapitvany (Hungarian Cultural Foundation’s) gallery near to Buda Castle. The Canadian Embassy gave a reception on February 19th; Peter Herrndorf, President and CEO of the NAC, and a member of the advisory board of the Canada-Hungary Educational Foundation, was present at the opening as was photographer, Tony Hauser and a number of the portrait-sitters.
April 12th through 15th , the exhibit moved to the Budapest Congress Centre to be the backdrop for the Canadian section of the International Book Fair. Canada was the featured guest country.
